Journal Entry: Sun Mar 29, 2009, 4:46 AM

Mom is doing better each day.. Yesterday was the first day she has been dressed all day, since she got sick.. This last antiboitic has done the trick.. She's even going to drive to the grocery store today..

This Wednesday we will leave March behind and I will know that spring is finally here.. My crocuses are finally blooming, but it's supposed to smow today.. March is not happy at leaving us.. Maybe I can get some photos before they are gone..

My crocuss came and are going in dull, wet weather. I planted 200 bulbs and expected a lovely show. My expectations have been dashed.

So no photos.

Glad your Mom is getting better at last. You should boost her immune system with plenty of vitamin c and other vitamins. Antibiotics really deplete you bodies store of vitamin. Learned that from an old boyfriend who was a chemist. He said that when a doctor prescribes antibiotics technically they are suppose to give you a course of vitamins... However I don't know any that do. Don't suppose you do either.

My crocuses are all finished now and the grass is ready for it's first cut. I hate doing it. I have this piddly little hover mower thing. Where I lived before I had a mower like a quad bike and used to really enjoy buzzing about on it. Now my lawn is very small and a machine like that would be totally stupid. It's just a pain getting out and cleaning it afterwards for such a small patch...Can't put stones down as all the kids would just chuck them at the ducks. So I am stuck with it... Does look nice when it is done though so I suppose that's my reward...

Mom is already on a complete course of vitamins and minerals. Has been since she developed Giant Cell Arteritis.. She has a packet of them she takes each morning.. The meds she takes to control her ailments deplete vitamins.. It's essential because she has such difficulties eating.. These are designed just for her..
We had such a difficult winter, everything is slow coming up.. The grass hasn't started gto grow yet..

so glad to know your mom is doing better

another little advice beside vitamins ... when on antibiotics it s good practice to eat yogurt: antibiotics upset the intestinal bacterial flora, and yogurt helps settling it.
sigh @ crocuses .. it is the time of the year when i miss italy most, with my bulbs atarting to bloom and the first grass of that unique tender green ... but oh well i guess you cant have everything
